Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

(With a convenient tip for busy moms!)

Busy Mom Trick

  • I never made cookie dough and baked all the cookies at once

  • Simply roll all the cookie dough balls onto a parchment lined sheet pan
  • Place the sheet pan in the freezer for about an hour
  • Take the sheet pan out of the freezer and place the dough balls in the freezer in a freezer bag
  • when you want to feel like a super mom or grandma take a few out and place them on a cookie sheet for 15 minutes to thaw
  • Bake as usual
  • No over indulgence and its quick and easy to show your love!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup salted butter (always use butter!!)

  • 1/2 Cup granulated sugar

  • 3/4 Cup Packed Yellow/Brown Sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla (I use 2)

  • 2 Eggs (slightly Beaten)

  • 2/1/2 cups of flour (I use all purpose)

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon warm water

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (I reduced this as I prefer salted butter because I always have it!)

  • One Bag or 2 cups of semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees

  2. Gather all ingredients

  3. In a large bowl combine butter and sugar. use a hand mixer or a stand mixer to cream until smooth

  4. Add in vanilla and slightly beaten eggs-I don’t bother doing this one at a time

  5. Combine the one teaspoon of baking soda with the warm water until dissolved and then add to the butter mixture

  6. In a small bowl add the flour and salt together and mix

  7. Add the flour mixture one third at a time and mix until combined

  8. Stir in chocolate

  9. Let dough sit in fridge covered for 30 minutes

  10. Roll dough into balls approximately 1.5 inches in diameter, place on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes
